Playing the infinite game

2025-01-06

It’s the new year!

This year, I’m turning 46! I’m not worried about getting older. Overall, I’m very comfortable with that, but after 46 trips around the sun, I’ve been spending a lot of time reflecting on who I am and what I stand for.

Why the naval gazing?

Well, partly it’s because as I get older, I realise how I spend my time is becoming more important. Hopefully, I’m not going to drop dead tomorrow, but the amount of time I have available to me, where I am in good health is declining.

Perhaps I’m going through a stereotypical mid-life crisis, but instead of buying a red sports car, I’m reevaluating and rediscovering. When I was young, I thought that reevaluation and rediscovering required big actions, but now I know better,.

Who am i?

I’m someone who is known for doing what they say they’re going to do

How am I going to be that person?

  • I need to get better at capturing my actions
  • I need to get better at setting deadlines
  • I need to get better at carving out time to focus on my commitment

So that’s my plan for 2025, become consistent so that I can be relied on to do what they say they’re going to do.
